Gabriel Martinelli was forced off in the Premier League match against Everton after suffering a hamstring injury. The Brazilian missed the Champions League game against PSV because he has not yet recovered and is expected to miss several more.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke about the 22-year-old and his injury at the press conference ahead of the Premier League meeting against Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium.
"With Gabi we are still assessing him, so let's see if he can make the game or not. Thomas [Partey] for sure is out. The rest we hope are available, yes we still have two training sessions, but there were no big issues in midweek," he claimed.
Moreover, the Spanish coach spoke about how difficult it is to choose a starting lineup for each match. "When you have to announce the line-up, it’s one of the hardest things, because players feel happy and valued when they play.
"When they don’t it’s very difficult. You want them to feel loved and trusted, and the way to do that is to play them, but everybody understands it’s a team sport."
