All the signs seemed to point to Messi having reached an agreement with Al-Hilal for next season. However, the official spokesperson of the Argentinian star told 'EFE' that the final decision will be made at the end of the campaign with PSG.
However, Barcelona are not giving up despite the fact that the Saudi club's offer is much better than theirs as Al-Hilal offered him 500 million euros for two seasons. But, according to 'L'Equipe', the Catalan side are willing to offer him 23 million euros per season.
Xavi Hernandez's club will have to sell several players - such as Raphinha, Ansu Fati, Franck Kessie and Jordi Alba - in the upcoming summer transfer window as they need to reduce their wage bill to bring him back to Camp Nou.
Nonetheless, Messi's father said: "There is no agreement at all with any club for next year. There is no way that decision will be taken until Lionel finishes his season with PSG."
As a result, the future of the Argentinian star is still uncertain. We will have to wait until the next transfer window to find out Messi's new destination.
