Bayern Munich want to return to being that unstoppable giant that was impossible to beat. To this end, the German club's board has begun work on a long-term project, focusing on signing young talent to strengthen the squad for the future.
In that sense, in the last few hours, 'AS' reported that the Bavarian club board contacted the directors of the San Jose Earthquakes, of Major League Soccer (MLS), to ask about the situation of a young American gem.
It is Cade Cowell, a 19-year-old striker who impressed the best teams in Europe with his good performances for the American club. For example, Newcastle, Milan and Juventus are also interested in him for next season.
During the 2021-22 season, the striker made 34 appearances for San Jose, scoring five goals and providing three assists. However, although his figures are not as impressive, he has impressed European clubs with his great physical strength and technical ability when it comes to playing football.
The US believes that Cowell could become a major figure in soccer in the not-too-distant future. As a matter of fact, the U.S. Under-20 national team already had him in their ranks in the matches they played during the last year 2022.
But that's not all. The 19-year-old is eligible to represent the Mexican national team, so if he is signed by Milan, Juventus, Bayern or Newcastle, it would surely start a fight between federations to see who gets the player's services ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
