On Monday, Chicago Fire agreed a deal with Aston Villa to sell striker Jhon Duran for around €18 million, which is what 'EFE' said according to sources close to the American side.
Duran, who was born in Medellin in 2003, scored eight goals in the MLS last season with Chicago and was one of the side's best players, because of his speed and physical power.
He started the year as second-in-line to Pole Kacper Przybylko, but gradually made his way into the starting 11.
The Chicago side's Sporting Director Sebastian Pelzer agreed the deal with Aston Villa, leaving the player and the club to negotiate the contract.
Despite being far from expectations last season, seveal Fire players have attracted attention from Premier League clubs.
While they wait for Duran's deal to be completed, goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina signed for Chelsea last August for around $10 million.
The young shot-stopper, who is 18 years of age, stayed in the MLS until the end of the season, before joining the English club.
