France beat Ronaldo's Portugal on penalties

France beat Portugal 5-3 in the penalty shoot-out round of the Euro 2024 quarter-finals after a goalless draw after 90 minutes and extra-time.

France and Portugal were unable to score in the 90 minutes as both put in some disappointing performances to go into extra-time. Both hosts and visitors had golden opportunities to put their national team ahead. Extra-time was also not enough for either team and they went to penalties.
