The Gunners looked set to win their first Premier League title in nearly two decades in 2022/23 before Pep Guardiola's side reeled them in to win a third straight title.
But Arsenal beat Manchester City in the league for the first time since 2015, building on their Community Shield shootout triumph against the treble winners. Both the coach and the players took great pride in this victory.
Spanish coach Mikel Arteta spoke about his feelings after the win and revealed what Guardiola said to him after the game at the Emirates Stadium.
"I talked with him after the game. It’s always like this, it’s very tense, it’s very emotional, a lot is going on in that moment, but after that, the relationship remains intact," he told 'Men in Blazers' podcast.
"I lost much more than I won against him, but to be fair, in the last two games when we won the Community Shield and now in the league, the feeling is totally different. He told me: 'Congratulations, you guys are a terrific team, and let’s move on'."
