Grealish's Cheshire mansion in north-west England was targeted by thieves as he was in action for the Premier League champions during their 3-1 victory on Merseyside.
Members of Grealish's family and his fiancee Sasha Atwood were watching the televised match at the house when they heard a disturbance, according to reports on Friday.
An alarm was raised and an emergency response was launched with a helicopter, police dogs and a number of officers sent to the property, but no suspects were detected.
"It has happened to United players as well. I don’t much about London but it’s happened (there). They have security but, unfortunately, it’s happened, it’s happened many times. In the UK, in Catalonia where my family lives, many things happen," Guardiola told reporters.
"Today you have to be careful, definitely. Not much on social media, the less they know what you are doing the better. People are waiting. Waiting to see where you are. Unfortunately it’s happened with Joao, which was so scary because the family was being attacked," he added.
Moreover, the Spanish coach spoke about Jack Grealish's situation after being robbed: "He didn’t train on Thursday for the recovery, he was with the family. We are going to see how he feels. We will talk with him and we will see whether he will be in the squad."
