Manchester City host Brentford in a match that should have been played in December. The match was postponed as the Sky Blues competed in the Club World Cup, which they eventually won.
Guardiola's side started the game dominating possession and threatening Flekken's goal with shots from Haaland and Foden from outside the box.
Brentford also had chances through Wissa, Onyeka and Toney but could not find the desired goal.
Both teams went in at half-time goalless. In the second half, Guardiola shuffled the bench and introduced Doku to create more of a threat to Brentford.
In the 70th minute, Alvarez from midfield found Haaland in space, who dribbles past Ajer, drives the ball into the Bees' box, and beats Flekken.
Ten minutes later Haaland added the second but the referee flagged the Norwegian striker offside.
In the end, the Sky Blues took a narrow win at home to a battling Brentford side.
