Inter Miami have appointed former Barcelona and Argentina coach Gerardo Martino to take charge of the Major League Soccer team, setting up a reunion with compatriot Lionel Messi.
Not only with Messi but also with Sergio Busquets. The former players of the Catalan side have joined David Beckham's team to play together again. However, their new coach made it clear that they are not there to rest.
"I spoke to Leo and yesterday spoke to Sergio. Sometimes people hear Miami they think holidays. But these two players are not coming here for a vacation, they are here to work and compete and win. That is in their blood," he claimed at his first press conference.
"We have a great challenge, which is to assemble our definitive team between now and the start of the 2024 season. That moment is the one we will have to use to assemble the team that represents Inter Miami."
