Curtis Jones is not having his best day. The midfielder was sent off after receiving a straight red card against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
As a result, the 22-year-old will miss the upcoming domestic games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton and Nottingham Forest. Referee Simon Hooper initially showed him a yellow card for a hard tackle on Yves Bissouma.
However, the VAR decided to review his foul as it seemed too aggressive. The referee decided to withdraw the yellow card to show him a straight red card. The English midfielder had to leave the pitch and go to the dressing room.
Liverpool were reduced to ten men and will struggle to get the three points. Almost ten minutes later, the Reds had the lead thanks to a Luis Diaz opener but it was disallowed for offside.
