OFFICIAL: Oscar Cano becomes Tenerife's new coach

Tenerife on Monday afternoon announced the signing of Oscar Cano to take the reins of the team. The new coach arrives at Heliodo Rodriguez Lopez after being relegated with Sabadell to Segunda RFEF.

CD Tenerife announced on Monday the appointment of Oscar Cano as the new coach of the Blue and Whites for the 2024-2025 season. The 51-year-old from Granada replaces Basque coach Asier Garitano.
Cano will face his third experience in a Second Division dugout, after the stages he lived in UD Salamanca (2010-2011) and CD Castellon (2020-2021), entity, the latter, in which he had achieved promotion from the Second Division B.
The coach has accumulated extensive experience in the bronze category of Spanish football. Most recently, at the helm of CE Sabadell, he was unable to avoid relegation to Segunda RFEF on the final matchday, despite the 35 points he managed to collect in the 25 games he coached the Catalan side.
Cano has also coached CD Baza, Granada CF, Club Polideportivo Ejido, UD Melilla, Real Betis B, CD Alcoyano, CD Badajoz and Deportivo de La Coruna, with more than 380 presences on the bench in different official competitions.
