The London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League provided a most interesting picture. Aaron Ramsdale, the goalkeeper whom David Raya has taken over the starting line-up from Mikel Arteta, applauded a great save from his team-mate.

The international break brought changes at the Emirates Stadium, with David Raya taking the place of Aaron Ramsdale. The Spanish goalkeeper, who joined from Brentford this summer, started against Everton, PSV and Tottenham Hotspur despite being inactive during the international break, while his team-mate Ramsdale was selected in the starting XI for the Scotland-England clash.
Ramsdale would be expected to be indignant about this situation. Nothing could be further from the truth. In this weekend's London derby in the Premier League, the cameras caught the former Sheffield United goalkeeper applauding his team-mate when he had just made a great save from Brennan Johnson, who had been gifted a clear chance to score by Heung-Min Son.
The play happened just before half-time and with the Gunners leading 1-0, it was a key moment for the visitors to strike, but the Spanish goalkeeper dealt with the threat. Later, he would concede two goals although the keeper performed well as the resulting 2-2 draw was the result of close game.
David Raya signed for Arsenal to compete with Aaron Ramsdale, but Mikel Arteta was expected to give his goalkeepers a period of rotation which it appears he will not be doing. The former Brentford keeper has become his favourite for the Premier League and Europa League, so it seems the Gunners boss has made a clear decision on his team's goalkeeping.
