If there is one player who is very important for Atletico Madrid, it is Antoine Griezmann. The French striker is the key player for Cholo Simeone and his importance on the pitch is immense. His second half of La Liga season has been remarkable.
Now, the Frenchman gave an interview to 'DAZN' in which he spoke about his season with the 'Colchoneros'. Firstly, he was asked about the turbulent start to the campaign, but he also highlighted how the team finished and his desire to win trophies.
"The start? It was a complicated stage because my legs and my mind felt very good. It was difficult for me, but I have the best wife and children at home to put up with all that. I kept working, talking to my teammates and letting off steam from time to time. Work always pays off," he said.
He was then asked about the team's evolution and improvement: "After the World Cup, we came here with a lot of desire, the results help us to be happy, to have the confidence to play. We've seen a different team". He then referred to his return to the Cívitas Metropolitano team.
"I've always said I wanted to play in MLS, but I did everything I could to come back here, to be accepted back, and I've done everything to be able to enjoy myself at Atletico. There is no club where I feel happier. I owe a lot to Simeone, I wanted to play for him again. For me it's an honour to play for this club and for him. You give everything for these coaches," he said.
