Phil Foden is one of the key players in the Manchester City squad. His performances are incredible and no one doubts his quality. However, the 23-year-old is not getting as much playing time as he would like.
The 23-year-old does not usually play as a starter despite his performances and told in an interview for his current club's press that one day he decided to talk to his coach Pep Guardiola about his playing time.
"It was really tough because obviously I love playing football and when you're not playing many minutes, it's so difficult. But I had a few conversations with the manager and he said 'just be patient, look at the quality that's in front of you, it's so difficult, but as time goes on, you will get your chance because the way you train every day and apply yourself is important and you just have to be ready when injuries happen and things like that'.
"And when you get your opportunity, you have to take it. He started throwing me in in massive games. I remember the Tottenham game at home when he just started me, it was a shock to me and I end up scoring the winning goal," he concluded.
