Barcelona contact agent to renew Busquets and Sergi Roberto

Sergio Busquets and Sergi Roberto end their contract with FC Barcelona in June 2023 and they still have not got to an agreement with the board to renew, meaning they do not know where they will be playing next season.
In the same way as what happened with Marcos Alonso a few hours ago, Xavi wants both players to renew at the club and for them to stay, for at least another year.
Faced with this situation, the Catalan side's board have already got in touch with Josep Maria Orobitg, who is both players' agent, to find out if the players are thinking about staying at Barcelona or not after the 30th June.
Busquets has still not said what he wants to do. The midfielder is thought to have multi-million pound offers to continue his career in the MLS or in Saudi Arabia, for example. It will all depend on how he feels after this season and the importance he plays in Xavi's side.
Sergi Roberto's situation is different, as he is not playing a lot, but he has said himself he wants to stay at the club which has seen him come into his own on the pitch. Negotiations for him would be even easier than teammate Busquets, as both parties are up for it.
It is expected that more meetings will take place in the next few weeks between the representatives to know what both players are planning. Having said that, if they want to stay at the Catalan giants, they will have to considerably reduce their wages faced with the club's financial situation.
