At the start of the year, Luis Suarez joined Brazilian club Gremio, in the city of Porto Alegre. Even if the side aren't ready to part ways with the player that has scored 11 goals for them and provided 8 assists in 24 appearances, there have been rumours linking Suarez to MLS.
He could join his friend Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, giving new life to the iconic duo that flourished at Barcelona. But on Thursday, the striker put the rumours to bed, explaining he had no plans to leave Brazil.
"It's impossible, I'm happy with Gremio and I'm under contract until 2024", he declared to 'El Observador'. The player would also see several bonuses coming his way if he stays at the club and completes several objectives, like qualification to the Copa Libertadores.
He's not the only one now being linked to a move to follow Messi. Two former Barcelona players and friends of the Argentinian are also rumoured to be considering the move: Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, who both announced their departures from Barcelona a few weeks ago. It's possible that the possibilty of retiring in Florida amongst friends could tempt the two legends.
