Ahead of Manchester City's second pre-season friendly, this time against Bayern Munich, manager Pep Guardiola spoke to the press, discussing a very pertinent issue - Kyle Walker.
The Sky Blue defender has been linked to a move to join the German champions after admitting he felt "huge disappointment" when he was not included in the Spaniard's starting XI for the Champions League final.
Although he may feel minor to Guardiola, it appears his manager does not feel the same, calling him "irreplaceable" to the treble-winning team.
"What can I say? He's an incredibly important player for us", said the coach. "He has very specific qualities that are so difficult to find worldwide. His specific qualities are irreplaceable. We want him here but at the end I don't know what is going to happen".
Guardiola even went as far as to say that the club would "fight" for him not to leave this summer: "I know they are in touch, both clubs. We will fight for him, like I'm pretty sure Bayern [will]," he declared. "But I don't know how it is going to finish."
It also looks like Walker will be involved in Wednesday's match against the Germans in Tokyo: "We need our best players out there against Bayern and we hope he is going to stay with us next season, so why should he not play?", Guardiola reflected.
The England international has made 254 appearances for the Sky Blues since he joined in 2017 from Tottenham, winning five Premier League titles, four EFL Cups, two FA Cups and the Champions League.
